PAMELA WILLIAMS THE VISUAL ARTIST

Pamela Williams began drawing at the age of 4 when she realized she could easily reproduce images that her father, who is also a gifted artist, would draw for her. Pamela attended the Philadelphia College of art. A few years passed and Pamela enrolled in and graduated from Philadelphia Community College with honors in 1988, receiving a degree in Art. But art was not the only passion for Pamela. While still attending college Pamela got the rare opportunity to audition for Patti LaBelle's band. Patti LaBelle, a legendary R&B star and a fellow Philadelphian. Pamela was at a major crossroads in her life which was going to an elite college in New York, which one could only attend by recommendations of college professors or going around the world on tour with Patti LaBelle! Pamela chose to go on tour with the renowned singer and left her paint brushes behind…...for a minute. She continued to paint in between being on the road for several years. Pamela has been commissioned to do artwork for several clients including Patti LaBelle and Prince as well as other entertainers. Pamela has shown her work in art shows all over the country. Pamela's versatility as a fine artist reflects in the various mediums she can work in which includes oil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, pastel, pen & ink, and also relief sculpture. Pamela has diverse styles ranging from realism to impressionism and abstract cubism. Pamela Williams has found a happy medium between art and music. She also taught art at the Rainey Institute in Cleveland, OH as well as teaching private art lessons.
